A gifted vocalist and prolific songwriter, Emma Frank's previous releases have earned her rave reviews - including four stars from DownBeat for her 2018 release 'Ocean Av'. The evolution continues with her fourth and most ambitious full-length recording to date 'Come Back'. Says' Frank "I'm interested in the intersection between folk song and contemporary jazz. In this collection of songs, we play with odd meters and tempo shifts, and the emotional interest lies partly in improvised orchestration, while staying true to a song form and narrative. Although we recorded with a typical jazz quartet - upright bass, grand piano, and drums - we also added layered guitar, synths, and strings to the arrangements."back to top
