The Doors were a groundbreaking American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1965 by vocalist Jim Morrison, keyboardist Ray Manzarek, guitarist Robby Krieger and drummer John Densmore. He band, known for it's unique blues-infused sound andMorrison's poetic, often controversial lyrics and unpredictable stage presence, became a major force in 1960s countercultureand psychedelic rock. Their influential career ended with Morrison's death in 1971, after which the remaining members disbandedin 1973.
