After 17 years of existence, 'Encounter' continues to evolve. The quartet consists of Wataru Hamasaki (t. sax, flute), Hideaki Hori (piano), Hiroshi Takase (bass), and Junji Hirose (drums). They have toured jazz clubs and performed at jazz festivals throughout Japan, and have appeared at the 55th Monterey Jazz Festival in the United States, one of the world's largest jazz festivals.
