Alchemy's musical influences are many. They range from 60's and 70's classic rock produced by bands like Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Doors and Jimi Hendrix, to the more recent rock sounds of Stone Temple Pilots, Alice in Chains, Nirvana and Blind Melon. They also occasionally mix in some influence from Band of Horses, My Morning Jacket, Nick Drake and Susan Tedeschi. Alchemy blends the sounds of the above named bands and incorporates their own twist of originality ranging from straight up, in your face hard rock tunes, melodic ballads and acoustic based songs with elements of electric guitar. They have been described as 1970's Birmingham meets 1990's Seattle. Alchemy produced and recorded their self-titled debut album in 2003 and just finished their second album, aptly named 'Wise Fool.' The new album was mixed by famed producer/mixing engineer Mark Needham at The Ballroom Studios in Hollywood, CA. Mark has worked with well known acts such as Fleetwood Mac, Chris Isaak, The Killers and Imagine Dragons among many others.back to top
